A number of 2 RAR members who served in Rwanda, with the generous support from the Townsville RSL, have organised a reunion to commemorate this significant deployment and occasion. The Townsville RSL’s support to the reunion has enabled it to be a low-cost activity. The only cost is for the dinner, which pays for the food, there is no facility, equipment hires or security cost on top, these have all been met by the Townsville RSL. The ‘Meet and Greet’ facility and food has been generously provided by the Townsville RSL Partners are very welcome.

The culmination of the Reunion is the Townsville Anzac Day march, where the Rwanda Reunion Contingent will be the Lead Veteran Group. TheTownsville RSL are generously providing a specific banner (pictured below) forthe Rwanda veterans to march under.

• Monday, 21st April – Arrival
   
• Tuesday, 22nd April – Meet and Greet.  PM – 1600 at the RSL for Bar snacks (free and provided by the Townsville RSL), dress - minimum RSL dress standards.
   
• Wednesday, 23rd April – Reunion Dinner ($80.00 per person)
  • AM – Free Day
  • PM – Dinner at the RSL – 1730 for an 1800 start, 3Course alternate drop, Dress - minimum RSL dress standards but Tie andJacket encouraged. We will seat you with other members of your group fromthe Registration form. We aim to make it a relaxed affair.
• Thursday, 24th April – Free Day
  AM/PM – This is a recovery day and a chance to meetup informally in your small groups
   
• Friday, 25th April – Anzac Day (pay as you go)
  • AM – for those ex-members of 2/4 RAR and 2 RAR, be onLavarack barracks at 04:40 and enjoy a coffee and rum and commemorate theDawn service with 2 RAR.
  • You will need to depart Lavarack by 8:30 to be at themarch to move to the Strand to be lead veteran group of the TownsvilleANZAC Day March
• Saturday, 26th April (pay as you go)
  • AM – sleep in and Recover
  • PM – 16:00 ‘The Seaview’ pub located on ‘The Strand’
• Sunday, 27th April - Depart for home locations
