Australian Military Training Memorial

Current Status

APPVA is delivering the Australian Military Training Memorial, a nationally significant memorial to honour all ADF members who have died in training.

The memorial will address a longstanding gap in Australia’s commemorative landscape. While operational deaths are formally recognised, there is currently no national memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives while training for operational readiness in the defence of Australia.

This project will provide a permanent place of reflection for families, veterans, and the Australian community, ensuring their sacrifice is acknowledged with dignity and national significance.

The project has been approved by the National Capital Authority for a position on Anzac Parade, Canberra, pending final design approval. It is supported by our Patron, Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK, AFC (Ret’d), and is now positioned to move forward, awaiting the initial funding required to bring this important national memorial to life.
