Full Member

To apply to become a Full Member  you must be 18 years old or more and served in the ADF, or have deployed on a peacekeeping operation in the AFP, AEC, DFAT or other government departments that deployed as first responders. Full Members have voting rights and may attend general meetings.

Becoming a Full Member offers remarkable advantages, such as:

      • Have your advocacy and wellbeing concerns triaged and if appropriate, represented at the highest levels including at the ESORT, repatriation commissioner, Defence and Veterans Services Commissioner (DVSC) and the Minister for Veterans Affairs.
      • An invitation to APPVA events such as our dinner, return to Country Program and merchandise discounts.
      • Joining Australia’s fastest growing network for peacekeeping veterans, their families, and supporters.
      • Driving transformative change on issues arising from the unique nature of peacekeeping service, including nature-of-service reviews and the retrospective classification of awards.
      • Collaborating with modern leaders from the veteran and veteran family community who are actively working to improve conditions for the entire ESO community and its supporters.
      • Receiving The Australian Peacekeeper Magazine every quarter in either digital or print format.

Associate Membership is open to anyone who does not qualify as a Full Member, and this can include anyone in the Veteran Support Network such as veteran family members, the medical community and anyone interested in the veteran and veteran family community. Associate Members do not have voting rights however they may attend general meetings as an observer.

Becoming an Associate Member offers remarkable advantages, such as:

  • Driving transformative change in your area of focus that supports the veteran and veteran family community through our lobbying to government and DVA.
  • Collaborating with modern leaders from the veteran and veteran family community who are actively working to improve conditions for the community and its supporters.
  • Receiving The Australian Peacekeeper Magazine every quarter in either digital or print format.
  • Gaining exclusive access to members-only sections of our website, including our photographic archives.
  • Receiving immediate notifications about issues impacting veterans, eliminating the need to wait for the next newsletter.

Honorary Membership of the Australian Peacekeeper & Peacemaker Veterans’ Association (APPVA) is conferred by the APPVA Board, this honour recognises distinguished ex-servicemen and women, as well as meritorious peacekeepers who have demonstrated long and exemplary service in the cause of peace.

This special membership acknowledges individuals whose dedication, leadership and integrity have made a lasting contribution to peacekeeping operations, veteran welfare, and the broader peacekeeping community. It reflects not only operational service, but also ongoing commitment to the values of courage, professionalism and selfless service.
