The Veterans' Voice

An opportunity for the North Western Tasmanian veteran community to unite as one and define our list of veteran and veteran family issues and prioritise them
19 Sep 2022

North Western Tasmanian Veteran Community.  We invite all veterans, veteran families and members of our support network such as medical and wellness professionals to attend this casual Q&A session.

The aim of the “A Veteran’s Voice” is to allow our local veteran community to unite as one and define our list of veteran and veteran family issues and place them in an order of priority our community feels is appropriate.  This is important because there is no list of veteran issues at DVA, nothing visible to the Minister to know what needs to be addressed other than what becomes headlines in the news.   This is not a good approach to providing services to us, and the outcome will be a publihed ist of veteran issues to be included with the NSW/ACT list made on 30 September 2022.  We will be helping DVA know what assistance we need.

The evening will be professionally facilitated, and the panel will include:

  • Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP, Assistant Minister for Veterans, Affairs
  • Senator Anne Urquhart
  • Gavin Pearce MP
  • Guy Barnett MP
  • Jen Butler MP
  • John Findlater
  • Ian Lindgren
  • Tom Hanley
