If you want to make a difference as a veteran under 40 years of age, we are in need of two under 40s veterans to attend the DVA Younger Veterans Forum once every three months. Preferably a man and a woman. We are after veterans that have the ability to work at the strategic level with our Vice Chairperson, Ian Lindgren, and engage with DVA, the Minister's office and other senior veteran support system stakeholders.
You must have morale courage, provide advice without fear or favour and argue a case professionally and without emotion, both verbally and in writing. You must be able to take the issues to DVA and the Commonwealth and not be satisfied until you have an answer that meets your generation’s needs. You must be prepared to want to see the recommendations of the Royal Commission be implemented as opposed simply hoping that “someone will do it.”
If this is you, then glance at the Young Veterans’ Forum overview; ignore it and refer to the above two paragraphs. You do not need to be a member of the Association to be considered.
