Our new initiative aims to help veterans and veteran families in need at this very moment.
We are wanting to provide urgent help to an at risk veteran who needs funding to continue receiving assistance from a trusted professional trauma informed support worker. By covering costs of this support for just 4 weeks, this interim step will stop him from falling between the cracks as she works with him to secure ongoing government funding to assist with his complex needs.
Let’s fund raise a target of $2,000 to help pay the support worker for the next four weeks while we approach DVA to identify how it can help the veteran through a longer process. If we can raise more; and the advocate confirms the time already donated, we can ensure she is remunerated.
Without our help the veteran is at risk of a dangerous decline in mental health and serious legal complications. The Peacekeepers are donating the first $200, can you help too? Click here to donate.
All funds will be received by the Australian Peacekeeper and Peacemaker Veterans’ Association, a national charity registered with the ACNC. Questions to Ian Lindgren, Vice Chairperson on Tel: (02) 7251 7164
