South East Queensland branch reformed - 7 Nov 2007

The APPVA South Queensland Branch was established on Monday, 5th November, 2007, at the Goodna RSL Sub-Branch West of Brisbane. The newly elected Committee has four Office Bearers and four Committee members. Inaugural President, Andrew Reggett, a former RAAF Logistics Sergeant, who served in the Second United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM II), has indicated that he wishes to involve all former and ex-serving ADF members and Police, in consultative meetings across the South Queensland area.

“The former APPVA Queensland Branch was dissolved as a result of the requirement to have the APPVA adequately service the large current and ex-serving ADF and Police populations in Queensland. The APPVA now has the APPVA North Queensland Branch Inc, established in Townsville, under the stalwart ship of Army Captain (Retired) Geoffrey “Lofty” Evans, a Vietnam, and Cambodia (Aviation Support Group 1993) Veteran. The addition of the APPVA South Queensland Branch now completes the coverage to serve our Younger Veterans in the State of Queensland,” said Mr Paul Copeland, National President of the APPVA, who presided over the South Queensland Branch Meeting.
