Dear members, family and friends of the APPVA,

For those who are able to be in Melbourne on Monday the 14th Sep, I wish to invite you to commemorate the service of Australian Defence and Police personnel on operations since WW2. Commemorative days have been set aside for Korean and Vietnam however for the 83000 plus personnel that have deployed on over 75 other operation that have been Warlike, No Warlike, and Peacetime this is your day. Operations are still currently taking place and lives have been lost, Personnel injured and many lives have been changed for ever.

There have been numerous successes over the years and we have a history to be proud of. All of our members have friends that have been injured in training, wounded or killed on operations, or whose lives have been affected from their service for ever.

On the 14 Sep @ 1030hrs at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital Memorial Gardens a service is being held to commemorate this service. Tony Robinson MP (Minister assisting the Minister for Veterans Affairs Victoria) will hopefully be making a donation towards the Australian Peace Keeper Memorial on the day.

Enter the Hospital at gate 9 Waterdale Rd, West Heidelberg.

These days are important to us as an association; a show of numbers helps us to represent on current issues regarding current ex Defence and Police members. Representation from RSL, KVAA and VVAA will also be present on the day.

Wear your medals on the day.

Please give this widest dissemination.

Yours truly,

Michael Quinn

APPVA Victoria Branch President
