HUMANITARIAN OVERSEAS SERVICE MEDAL FOR PAKISTAN

On 22 May 2008 the Governer-General declared the Pakistan operation as eligible service for the HOSM and specified the ADF as an eligible organisation for the operation.

Eligible service for the HOSM with clasp 'PAKISTAN' is that related to earthquake relief operations for at least 14 days in the period commencing on 8 October 2005 and ending on 8 November 2005 or at least 30 days in the period commencing 8 October 2005 and ending on 31 May 2006.

Service must have been in the affected area of Pakistan that coincides with the following administrative districts of Pakistan administered Kashmir (AJK):

1. Bagh;

2. Muzzaffarabad;

3. Neelum;

4. Poonch;

And the following administrative districts of North West Frontier Province (NWFP):

1. Abbottabad;

2. Batagram;

3. Kohistan;

4. Mansehra; and

5. Shangla.

Individuals who consider they are eligible for the medal need to apply direct to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM and C) by completing the HOSM application form which is available on the PM and C Internet site at www.itsanhonour.gov.au. DH and A has begun verifying the first list of applicants received from PM and C.
