ANZAC DAY IN ALBURY WODONGA
25 Apr 2008
This year marked the 93rd Anniversary of ANZAC Day. In Albury and Wodonga hundreds turned out to for the Dawn Service in both cities which, was followed by the March.
The Wreath in Albury was laid by Mr Bill Cimmins at Memorial Hill. The Wodonga Wreath was laid by Matt Burke.
On both sides of the border record numbers of current and former Peacekeepers and Peacemakers marched behind the APPVA Banner.
In each city there were over 350 people who marched, divided into their specific missions. These included missions to East Timor, The Soloman Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan to name but a few.
Many thanks go to numerous individuals including but not limited to the CO and RSM of the ALTC, the members of the ALTC who helped with everything from breakfast to providing banner bearers, and Gary Mansfield of the Wodonga RSL for co-ordinating the events of the day.
