Subject: RIDE FOR PEACE 2011

The Australian Peacekeeper & Peacemaker Veterans’ Association (APPVA), is organising a “Ride For Peace” in order to raise funds for the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project on ANZAC Parade in Canberra.

This memorial will be a living memorial, which will commemorate the service, courage and sacrifice of Defence Force and Federal Police assigned members who have served on a range of Peacekeeping Operations since 14th September 1947.

The intended date of the “Ride for Peace” is for the period 26 May to 1 June 2011.

We extend a welcome invitation to any motorcycle enthusiasts who have a link to military or police service in assisting us achieve our goal in raising funds to pay for the Memorial.  This has a potential for large media coverage from Melbourne to Canberra, Sydney to Canberra and Brisbane to Canberra (TBC).

We would like to invite any Victorian Based motorcycle enthusiast to be a member of our “Ride for Peace” Committee, which we intend to meet sometime in December 2010 (TBC).
