A brief outline of the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project Stand at the Avalon International Airshow 1-7 March 2011

"The APMP very successfully manned a stand at the Avalon International Air Show near Melbourne from 1-7 March. The stand, which was part of the Defence Materiel Organisation pavilion, was well visited by both trade representatives and the general public. Volunteers from the APMP Committee and the Victorian branches of the UNPAA and the APPVA were present each day handing out brochures, explaining the model of the Memorial, selling Peacekeeping Bears and telling people about the Memorial. Several opportunities for donor support by Australian companies who support Australian peacekeeping were initiated and will be followed up over the next few weeks".

Cheers Tim

Footnote:

Please consider assisting with the public awareness and fund-raising for our Memorial to be built 14 September 2012 (Australian Peacekeeper’s Day) on ANZAC Avenue, Canberra.

The Tax-Deductibility for donations has been agreed by the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Warren Snowdon, after a period of over 12 months with no such cover due to a negative decision by the previous Minister – Alan Griffin. This has placed the Project back in terms of fund-raising and made it a very difficult year in 2010 for the Project.
